Even the big cola companies the likes of Coke and Pepsi need to diversify with their brands and branch out into different flavors every now and then to keep themselves fresh and current.

Well, Drambuie hasn’t done QUITE that. They do, however, have different kinds of drinks - one of which is the ever popular, quite classic scotch whiskey. The drink itself is an old favorite of millions across the globe, and has been for ages - who here doesn’t remember the old west days when men would stroll into a bar, their spurs clicking, and order up a round of whiskey, moments before heading back into the streets for a gun fight?

That might be going a bit far. Besides, this isn’t QUITE the same stuff - Drambuie’s whiskey is of a higher class, and can run as high as over $70 for a bottle. Hefty price, but it’s good stuff. So.

The Drambuie Fishing Tournament is an annual gathering of the United State’s best fishermen in the pursuit of pulling up the best marlins in Key West, Florida.

Held in July, the tournament brings together professional fishermen from all over the world to compete for a sum of over $250,000 worth of prizes. The tournament typically promotes fish-friendly lures when hunting for fish, thoruhg tournament anglers are permitted to use more traditional J shaped hooks to catch their fish. Those fishing for Atlantic billfish from HMS permittd boats must, however, use non-offset circle hooks to decrease the chances of the fish dying after it has been released.

Though the Drambuie Fishing Tournament is billed primarily towards snagging marlins, tuna, dolphin and wahoo are also permitted. The tournament is heavily sponsored (obviously enough) by Drambuie, though there are plenty of smaller, more fishing-friendly sponsors as well.

For more details check out their website.

These days drambuie isn’t restricted to the confines of a glass. It can also prove a nice place to whittle away your days as you enjoy a pleasant (and ritzy) vacation in Jamaica.

The Drambuie Estate, built in the 1940’s by the Duke of Marlborough, is a private villa now available for renters. The villa retains much of its old-world charm, complete with furnished rugs from across the world, original art from around Jamaica and other countries, exquisite sculptures and food to die for. And the charm has been enhanced by modern amenities like wireless internet, up-to-date sound systems and plenty of things to do.

But why settle for just the villa? Go for a full package. You’ll be given a car (with, if you wish, your own private driver) to tour the countryside in. And visitors to the Drambuie Estate may visit the Round Hill, a recreation center with a private beach, fitness rooms and lots more.

So the next time you’re visiting Jamaica and have a few extra bucks to spend, consider the Drambuie Estate. You won’t regret it.

And while you’re at it, ask for a drambuie. Just makes sense, doesn’t it?

The Drambuie Den is a series of visits by the Drambuie Liqueur Company. The company tours around a bunch of major cities in the United States and abroad, throwing surprise parties that are extremely posh and centered on experiencing a variety of drambuie-based drinks at their finest. Past cities to host the Drambuie Den have included New York, Chicago, Toronto, Columbus, Denver and Austin.

Be sure to reserve early as soon as you catch wind of the Drambuie Den headed your way, however, as invitations are limited and it won’t stick around for long.

The all-expense paid race commemorates the beginnings of Drambuie in 1745 when a Scottish Prince, frustrated in his try for the British Crown, ran from capture. In gratitude to the friendship of the clans for their help, he gave them the recipe for Drambuie Whiskey.

The race will be a decathlon-like event spanning across one-hundred miles of beautiful highland terrain. Competitions will include kayaking, speedboat racing, dirt buggy races, climbing, white water rafting biking and more. The Drambuie Pursuit starts on the Isle of Skye and ends in Inverness.
