Drambuie Pursuit
Thursday, May 8th, 2008Drambuie Liqueur, makers of Drambuie Black Ribbon Whiskey will begin searching for 10 teams of four players each to participate in the Drambuie Pursuit, a race across the Scottish Highland that will commence in April of 2008.
The all-expense paid race commemorates the beginnings of Drambuie in 1745 when a Scottish Prince, frustrated in his try for the British Crown, ran from capture. In gratitude to the friendship of the clans for their help, he gave them the recipe for Drambuie Whiskey.
The race will be a decathlon-like event spanning across one-hundred miles of beautiful highland terrain. Competitions will include kayaking, speedboat racing, dirt buggy races, climbing, white water rafting biking and more. The Drambuie Pursuit starts on the Isle of Skye and ends in Inverness.
